Some Old Truths to Help You Overcome Tough Times

Unfortunately, life is not a bed of roses. We are going through life facing sad experiences. Moreover, we are grieving various kinds of loss: a friendship, a romantic relationship or a house. Hard times may hold you down at what usually seems like the most inopportune time, but you should remember that they won’t last forever.

When our time of mourning is over, we press forward, stronger with a greater understanding and respect for life. Furthermore, these losses make us mature and eventually move us toward future opportunities for growth and happiness. I want to share these old truths I’ve learned along the way.

Fear is both useful and harmful. This normal human reaction is used to protect us by signaling danger and preparing us to deal with it. Unfortunately, people create inner barriers with a help of exaggerating fears. My favorite actor Will Smith once said, “Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. 【背景资料】

某河道整治工程的主要施工内容有河道疏浚、原堤防加固、新堤防填筑等。承包人根据《水利水电工程标准施工招标文件》（2009年版）与发包人签订了施工合同，工期9个月（每月按30天计、下同），2015年10月1日开工。
承包人编制并经监理人同意的进度计划如图2所示。

本工程施工中发生以下事件：

事件三：承包人在取得合同工程完工证书后，向监理人提交了完工付款申请（包括发包人己支付承包人的工程款)，并提供了相关证明材料。
事件四：承包人在编制竣工图时，对其中图面变更超过1/3的施工图行了重新绘制，并按档案验收要求进行编号和标注。

【背景资料】
某寒冷地区大型水闸工程共18孔，每孔净宽10.0m，其中闸室为两孔一联，每联底板顺水流方向长与垂直水流方向宽均为22.7m，底板厚1.8 m。交通桥采用预制“T”型梁板结构；检修桥为现浇板式结构，板厚0.35m。各部位混凝土设计强度等级分别为：闸底板、闸墩、检修桥为C25，交通桥为C30；混凝土设计抗冻等级除闸墩为F150外，其余均为F100。施工中发生以下事件：
事件1：为提高混凝土抗冻性能，施工单位严格控制施工质量，采取对混凝土加强振捣与养护等措施。
事件2：为有效防止混凝土底板出现温度裂缝，施工单位采取减少混凝土发热量等温度控制措施。
事件3：施工中，施工单位组织有关人员对11#闸墩出现的蜂窝、麻面等质量缺陷在工程质量缺陷备案表上进行填写，并报监理单位备案，作为工程竣工验收备查资料。工程质量缺陷备案表填写内容包括质量缺陷产生的部位、原因等。
事件4：为做好分部工程验收评定工作，施工单位对闸室段分部混凝土试件抗压强度进行了统计分析，其中C25混凝土取样55组，最小强度为23.5 MPa，强度保证率为96%，离差系数为0.16。分部工程完成后，施工单位向项目法人提交了分部工程验收申请报告，项目法人根据工程完成情况同意进行验收。
